LESSON: 1 Kings 8:22-24, 27-30, 41-43
MESSAGE: “The Work of the People”
This Sunday we’ll be looking at sections of a prayer spoken by king Solomon during the dedication service for the first temple in Jerusalem. Solomon commissioned the temple in order to build a place where the Ark of the Covenant would rest and to be a beacon and central location for worshiping God. I’ve been thinking about this text as we have returned for worship in the sanctuary and as we celebrate the completion of the Capital Campaign. Our building is important and helps represent who we are. How does it help us with the work that we’re called to in our community and in our world?
I will be taking a couple of vacation days in the middle of the week to get out of town as Leah and I celebrate our anniversary. Starting today, I will be out of the office for the rest of the week but feel free to contact me after Friday morning if you need to connect. I look forward to connecting with you when I return and being present for worship on Sunday.
Blessings and peace,
Prelude: “Morning Mood/Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, op.46” Edvard Grieg
Anthem: Praise We God the Father’s Name Leland B. Sateren
Meditation: Impresions intimas Frederic Mompou
