Lesson: Matthew 25:31-45
Message: “From the end to the beginning”
I hope that you are doing well during this time, as we continue through the pandemic and move into our holiday seasons, which we typically mark by spending time with friends, family, and loved-ones. It’s going to feel different this year. While it’s going to be difficult in many ways, there’s also something to be said for doing things in a new way. We have to renew our focus on what’s important, what’s essential, and where the Spirit is, through each of these moments where we might simply rely on tradition.
Our next out-door, in person worship service is this Saturday at 3pm. You can click here to register (https://signup.com/go/VAohmMo
And while you’re thinking about that, I’d invite you to also participate in our virtual Christmas pageant. This is going to be a fun service stitched together with video and images from many in the congregation – and we’re inviting friends, family members, loved ones far and wide to participate as well. If you’re able to participate, please jump down to the pageant section in this email and let us know.
On Sunday, during our live streamed worship, we come to the end of the year in the Christian calendar. Advent begins the following week, and this marks the beginning of the new year. This Sunday we end our study of the Gospel of Matthew, with the final text before Christ’s passion – with the illustration of the sheep and the goats. It also gives us one vision of what it looks like when Christ is the one that rules and governs. As we head into the anticipation of advent, we’ll look at how this cycle plays out in our own lives, and what we ourselves are anticipating as we wait on Christ’s spirit.
We continue with our Sunday morning worship using both Zoom and Facebook Live. For Zoom information please contact Chris at Chris@newtonchurch.org.

Please share this information with anyone who might be interested in tuning in. We cannot share the Zoom links publicly (to keep from being Zoom bombed), so please share it person to person rather than posting it on Facebook/Twitter, or other public social media. It’s fine to share the Facebook link broadly and publicly.

It’s 2020, and the Annual UPA Christmas Pageant is going virtual!
