Lesson Matthew 5:13-20
Message “Turning up the lights on our seasonal affective disorder”
For many people, the time we are living through feels like a pretty dark and difficult time. We’ve fully entered the political season of campaigning and attack ads, when reminded daily how divided we are as a country. We are witnessing international disasters and health crises that feel out of our hands and out of control. We live in a time where injustice is done in our names at the southern border and we’re not sure how to respond. And it’s been winter for a while. As someone who struggles with Seasonal Affective Disorder, I find myself craving the additional light – both literally and figuratively, that feels like it can’t get here quickly enough.
This week we’ll be looking at a sermon message from Jesus where he challenges his followers to live in a way that shines a light that will change the world around them. During our time when we so badly need the light, we’ll look at what this might mean for us as well. How are we going to get through this season? What’s the light that we’re given to shine?
Blessings and peace,

Will be talking about Worship and Justice from Isaiah 58:1-12. This Passage calls us to make God’s priorities ours. Overturning injustice, feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless….taking care of our neighbors. Neighbor Love is central to this lesson. Although this Bible verse may sound like God is not happy, we will focus on God’s concern about how we treat others. This lesson also includes a music lesson.
Will be beginning a new series called “The Best Year Ever” Description: If you’re ready to have the BEST YEAR EVER, how you handle your relationships with family and friends will be a huge factor. This Sunday will focus on Joseph and how he handled his dreams.
Bible Verse Genesis 37:1-11 and 1 Corinthians 10:23-24.
