Lesson: Mark 9:2-9
Message: “Where we’ve come from and where we’re going”

Hello Friends,
This week we wrap up the Season of Epiphany as we anticipate the beginning of Lent. Each year Epiphany comes to a climactic conclusion as we look at the event that we refer to as “The Transfiguration”. Jesus takes three of the disciples up to the top of a mountain, where they see a vision of Jesus shining brightly with Moses and the prophet Elijah appearing with them. There are a number of connections to draw between Jesus and these two important prophetic leaders who came before. It shows the continuity between the roots of their faith and what would come next. Likewise, for us, it’s helpful to see where we’ve come from so that we have a deeper understanding of where we are going. We’ll look for how that might transform us in our own time and place.

Ash Wednesday – Drive Through Ashes and Evening Service

Lent begins early this year, starting with Ash Wednesday on February 17. Mark your calendars. We’ll have a touch-free, drive-through option for receiving ashes and a blessing from noon to 1:30. Come drive into the entrance on the front side of the church and receive ashes in a cup (for self-service) and a blessing. This is a convenient way to take ashes home to family to participate together in the evening service.

Our livestream service is at 7pm. You can join us with or without ashes as we remember our humanity together. We’ll have this service via Zoom and Facebook Live.
