LESSON: Isaiah 2:1-5
MESSAGE: “A different kind of peace”
This week, we continue in the season of Advent and continue exploring peace as laid out by the prophet Isaiah. In this passage, Isaiah lays out the kind of peace that will be brought by the Messiah, and this peace looks a little different than what we might expect. It even includes images of the animal kingdom getting along, with predators and prey nesting together. We’ll explore how this is a different kind of peace from what the world typically offers. It transcends our expectations in so many ways. We’ll take a look at some moments where God’s peace has broken into our world.
I’m also excited for our First Friday gathering this week. This will be a great multigenerational time to sing some carols and make some crafts and enjoy one another’s company. I’m glad that UPA is a community that loves to gather to be in community together. What a great way to get in the Christmas spirit. It would also be a great way to invite a friend to share in this time and connect with what we are doing at UPA! All are welcome.
Blessings and peace to you this week,
