LESSON: Luke 12:13-21
In this week’s scripture passage, Jesus tells a parable about a rich person who had an overabundant harvest and decides to build barns to gather it and preserve it for the future. It’s enough for this person to live comfortably for the rest of their life. But in the story, just as the barns are being completed the rich landowner dies and all of these preparations for the future were wasted. We’ll use this parable to take a look at abundance. We affirm that God gives abundantly! We’ll look at what this abundance is and how it goes beyond personal wealth and sustenance. How do we notice God’s abundance and what are we called to do with this abundance when we have it? And, although it’s great to give to the church community and to our capital campaign – this isn’t going to be a message on stewardship. This is something that impacts how we live in all the parts of our lives!
I hope that you are having an abundant summertime! Blessings and peace,

As an incentive to all children a calendar and stickers can be found on the bench in the Parish Hall. Add a sticker for every Sunday you come to worship this summer. A special prize will be given for any student who collects over 4 Stickers. Let’s see how many can get this special prize.
