Samantha Cowan is a Deacon in The United Methodist Church and enjoys serving at UPA, where her main roles include outreach and worship leadership. Samantha received her Bachelor’s Degree from Florida Southern College (which, she will have you know, is famous for having the most Frank Lloyd Wright pieces of architecture in one location), her MDiv from the Candler School of Theology, and a Human Rights Graduate Certificate from Emory University.
Samantha and her husband Nelson live in Brighton, where Samantha serves as the Allston/Brighton Neighborhood Director at FriendshipWorks (a nonprofit that matches volunteers with elders to reduce isolation) and where Nelson is working toward a PhD at Boston University in Liturgical Studies. Both Nelson and Samantha are Floridians, so they spend most of their time in New England enjoying the four distinct seasons and pining for a beach where the water temperature gets above 75 degrees.
Samantha is available for meetings most evenings, or if you are in the Allston/Brighton area, anytime during the week. Meetings that take place over tea or other beverages or meetings that are held outside during nice weather will receive preference (she’s kidding…but really).
