Lesson: Isaiah 1:2,4,10-18a
Guest Preacher: Charlie Kessler
One really wonderful thing that I’ve realized about UPA is that there are a number of members who serve in the ministry and give sermons while the pastor is away. This week I am excited that Charlie Kessler will be giving our sermon and I wish that I could be here to listen to the message. He’ll be leading us through a challenging text which kicks off the book of Isaiah with a dismal scene of the state of the people’s relationship during Isaiah’s time, but also provides hope for a time when the people will live centered in the justice that God calls us to.
Prelude: “Musette in G” J. S. Bach
Meditation: “Saraband in D Minor” Handel
Postlude: “Polonaise in G Minor” J. S. Bach
I’ll be away at a family reunion in Iowa from this Thursday to the following Monday. During this time if you have an emergency, please contact Linda Wood-Boyle, who will be covering pastoral needs while I’m gone. I’ll be looking forward to connecting with you when I get back.
Blessings and peace,
Children in Church: Summertime! Although there is no Sunday school in the summertime, children are welcome in worship every Sunday. As an incentive to all children a calendar and stickers can be found on the bench in the Parish Hall. Add a sticker for every Sunday you come to worship this summer. A special prize will be given for any student who collects over 4 Stickers. Let’s see how many can get this special prize.
